"how am i supposed to feel?" weekend

friday morning i got the call that my grandma gloria suffered a heart attack. she lives alone and called the ambulance because she was having a hard time breathing. she had the heart attack in the ambulance. praise god she called when she did. i haven't been able to let my mind wander to the "what if's". so i was in a daze for most of that day, babysitting a friend's kid, trying to bake and clean.

that night we were supposed to go to our growing kid's god's way and then my girl jamie's 30th birthday party. corban woke up from his nap in a screaming rage. it was already dark that day and i was on the phone with my dad as i got corb's from the crib. i tried to rock him and soothe him while chatting with my dad for a few minutes (until he couldn't take the screaming anymore!). i go downstairs where the lights are on and notice he is red as a firetruck, covered in hives!!!!!!!!!!! i gave him some peanut butter chocolate cookie before his nap, and i guess his body did not enjoy it. so i was FREAKING out. i didn't really know what to do. i checked to make sure he was still breathing ok (not wheezing, etc). and i called the advice nurse and left a message. 40 minutes later she calls me back and we decided to give him benedryl and some of his ointments.

some of you know that corban is already allergic to milk, has severely sensitive skin with excema, and now adds something else to the list. i feel like i don't know how to take care of him properly. my poor baby. he ended up being fine after a few hours, but it just broke my heart to see him like that. he has scratches all over his body from itching so badly. needless to say, i didn't make the class or my friend's party.

while apparently smoking crack this week, brian and i decided to have a yard sale on saturday morning! i put an ad on craigslist and trianglemommies and hoped for the best to get rid of a lot of our baby stuff. it actually went well and we pulled it off! or should i say brian pulled it off with carting everything everywhere.

so the rest of that saturday, i baked and we cleaned our butts off. thanks again to my wonderful husband, i was able to pull of a fabulous dessert/ornament party that evening. i had about 30 lovely ladies in my home and we ate, drank, stole ornaments, and were merry! i have to be honest and say that was the best my house has ever looked! haha. so feel free to visit my house for the holidays because it is the only time it will look nice! hahaha.

on sunday we got to go to church as a family, get some lunch with some pals at MOE's, and then totally chill for the rest of the day. it was bliss (minus my kid's swallowed "how much can i annoy my mom and dad while they try to relax" pills). but we made it :)

grandma is doing better. still in ICU, but is now conscious and no longer intubated. thank you to those who have been praying for her and my family. i praise god for his mercy.
