so i am still a year and a half away from my 30th birthday, but i am already planning it! hahaha. so as brian and i watched "don't be a menace to south central while drinking gin and juice" (or something like that) with the wayan brothers a couple weeks ago. what a trip down memory lane!
so i decided on my birthday theme that night, to embrace some of the happiest times in my life, when i was as ghetto as a filipino american girl could be. i drove around with snap on chrome rims with a bass tube in my trunk. let's just say the world was shocked when i married a [[[really]]] white boy. hahaha.
it will be a 90's hip hop party ([preferably early 90's!). so find those champion sweatshirts, cross colors, reebok classics, silk shirts, floral windbreaker outfits, gold chains, spandex, hammer pants, big big gold earrings----whatever takes you back to that day! i wish so badly i held onto my stuff. i hope to find some at thrift stores!
i can't wait to reminisce to the sounds of biggie, ol skool snoop and dre, eazy-e, SWV, tupac, jodeci, tevin campbell, black sheep, wu-tang clan, beastie boys, mary j blige, janet, keith sweat, r. kelly ("i don't see noooothin wrong with a little bump and grind, baby!"), oh i could go on for days. can yall tell how excited i am? i hope to find some mad dog 20/20 around here somewhere! hahaha!
and everyone is invited. you'll see people there you don't know, because i will be passing out flyers to my friends off 55 and back in DC. be ready to dance. it will be off the chain and you better mark your calendar-the weekend of august 14, 2009 baby! :) :)
(is it painfully obvious i am grasping at pretty much anything to look forward to at this point??? hehehe.)
