so i am studying beth moore's "breaking free" book. like all her stuff, it is pretty intense and i love it. there is always so much for me to learn and i can't get enough of how she breaks everything down and relates it everywhere in the bible.
so this week, i have been doing my homework on unfailing love. she talks about how churches "welcome" those who are captive the best we can and look for a quick "recovery" or powerful testimony from them. "A captive in our midst soon wears out her welcome if she doesn't get with it pretty quickly."
She goes on to say..."But God stands by us until we are free...God is the only One who is not repelled by the depth and length of our needs."
OUCH.
i want to show more unfailing love to those around me. forgive me lord for not being gracious to those who "don't get with it", who are tortured souls, who learn the hard way, and who are taking their time in you. i never judge out of disgust, but out of protection for them and the desire for them to truly know that it can all be ok--God is truly there for them. i really do want them to be free from what holds them back from experiencing their life to the fullest potential. but it is still judging, isn't it? lord, teach me how to show unfailing love and how to act.
