well, i am packing everything and getting ready for africa! i leave first thing tomorrow morning and am so excited! but, boy, do i have so much to get in order for my kids, bills, appointments, yada yada. but it has really come together smoothly (minus the bump that my insurance won't cover my anti-malarial drugs which is a hefty chunk of change) so i really cannot complain! i know i will be a basket-case when brian and the kids drop me off at the airport in the morning. i am blessed with 3 snugglebunnies and i am gonna miss being around them like crazy. please pray for their protection while i am away. thank goodness for my kind mother-in-law who is coming to help out brian while i am gone. i know they will be in good hands!
i had to say goodbye to some very special people this week, as they are moving away while i am in africa. such sadness! first up, we have shanna and andrew. i just love them and am so sad to see them go. they were our smallgroup leaders when we were with ymca ages ago and then there is HOPEmissions. shanna did such an awesome job really weaving outreach into the hearts of many at newhope and enabling many to serve in that capacity. they will both be missed tremendously and are appreciated by many. but i know they will continue to impact lives out in CA! and i need to get out there to see their baby norden and baby stephens when they make their arrival :) add it to my flight itinerary for the year!
next up, we have jen and eric riddle. eric has wrapped up his residency at UNC and they are heading back to nebraska. i have had the pleasure of sharing life with jen at our mom's in touch ministry at church. she has been a staple in organizing many events for us to bond on this journey as we discover ourselves as moms and who we are in Christ. she has the sweetest, most gentle spirit, and i will miss her tremendously. she too will be having a new baby girl after she moves! all these babies being born away from me-not acceptable!
i wish them all the best. i will miss them so.......
