as always, never a dull moment for the ackermans....some highlights:
*friday, i hired a sitter for the first time ever during the day just to run errands and relax. i was gone from 12:30-4pm. had lunch at pf changs with jamie, got another round of shots for my trip to africa (medical shots in my arm, not alcohol-that sounded so funny!), shopped a little at LB, and got milkshakes at chick fila for me and the kids. it was GLORIOUS. obviously i cannot afford to do this all the time, but i am looking forward to when those kiddies are all in school...hahaha. yeah right, brian will definitely have me working and making some money. hahaha.
* friday night i hung out with my neighborhood ladies and my college pal melissa (boz). we went to champps and saw the sex and the city movie. mind you, i haven't seen anything more than season one when i actually had HBO before i got married. but you've seen one, you've seen them all. i must say i loved the energy that night. all the ladies were dressed up and excited. it was a cute flick, i enjoyed most of it.
* saturday morning chase had a soccer game. he gets the hang of it a little more each week. he did well as a goalie, not letting any through....and then he scored his first goal ever! it was a pretty cool moment. yes, i was a proud mama.
* church on sunday was awesome. great message and service. our missions teams going to swaziland and antigua were there all 3 services to be prayed over and commissioned. it was pretty cool. i even got to sing in the 2nd and 3rd service since curtis was missing an alto. yay! since i am not on a team rotation on sunday mornings and i won't have another encounter until october, i guess you can say i'm a little eager to serve whenever and wherever. i'll be leading worship at the garage again this coming weekend with my dad. all you waldorfians, come on out!
* i confessed and nailed some of my sins to the cross along with everyone else at church. brian was ushering and said i needed 3 pieces of paper. haw haw haw. i sat next to andrew and told him i was pretty close to perfect and he could use my paper if he wanted to. :) no seriously, i confessed my critical spirit and my short temper. even though i see much of my criticism as constructive (because i obviously know everything and know what's best-didn't you get the memo??) let's face it, it's still criticism! yuck! get that junk out of here! and let's hope my pastor was not referring to me and my blog when he was talking about people not being holy enough. (love you, BK!)
* i have the best hubby in the world. our team swazi had a family lunch at the pool after church. i forgot to make the brownies for it. without me even asking, he made those brownies, cut them, and arranged them beautifully on a platter while i was still at church. he is such a stud. how did i ever get so lucky??????????
* i had yummy hooters wings for dinner. they are my fave. thanks steve and kim!
* gearing up for another 2 nights alone with just me and the kids. i guess this is what i get for marrying a consultant. but i can't complain, he travels way less than most other consultants.
*my TRIAD is coming over tonight. yippeeeeee!

Haha glad you had some leisure time on Friday without the kids! I saw Sex and the City too and I liked the story line and all, but I thought there was way too much nudity. I mean on a chick flick I don't need to see that much boob action! I guess the director wanted it to be applicable to males, but it's sad that every R rated movie now has full frontal nudity.
