yah yah

it's so devastating that i cannot upload any pictures onto my blog. i just don't even feel like writing, but i will.

i am on spiritual overload, but in a good way of course! i am doing the beth moore study "breaking free" with my momma friends, doing "discipleship essentials" with my oh so awesome triad, and will hopefully be doing "growing kids god's way" with some of the best parents i know. seriously, for a person who doesn't care to do much reading, this is A LOT of study to be doing on a weekly basis. i hope i can get everything out of each of them that i need to! i love studying the word and finally being disciplined to do so.

today is also mine and brian's 5th wedding anniversary. we actually celebrated last night by going to the melting pot. we sat in "lover's lane" and got to close a curtain. how romantic :) there were balloons and chocolate there waiting for us and the GM even came out with a card signed from the whole staff. it was cute. and it was so stinkin good too. i love to fondue. my family would do it every christmas eve, but that has been ruined since we all got married and have to spend time with in-laws. oh the joys of compromising.

but anyway, what a lame tangent. so if anyone wants to ever fondue and don't know if anyone would ever want to do that with you- I WILL!

here's a little spiritual nugget for the day:
Isaiah 9:2-9; Judges 6; 7.

The people of God can be very oppressed by the enemy.

Reasons God's people can experience oppression:
1. Testing (like Christ in the desert)
2. Chastisement for Rebellion
3. Lack of Submission to God's authority
4. Weakness in warfare

God did not allow his people to be oppressed so they would be defeated, but so they would ultimately be victorious. Victory begins with the cry for help.

God willingly tells his children why they are being oppressed if they are willing to listen!

Our prison doors are locked from the INSIDE-we hold the key.
The enemy has no authority to HOLD us when we are ready to get out.

God sees the potential of his children and appoints the experiences necessary for them to fulfill their destinies.
