i've been awake since 3:30am.

well, happy mother's day to me and all of you moms. it is 5:52 am. i have been up since 3:30am, when callie "lost" her binky and i had to help her find it. i have not been able to go back to sleep. so i am on the computer googling myself and whatever. what is scary is that i show up like 4 times on the first page when i google my name. thank you trianglemommies and koi pond!

rooms of hope went awesome yesterday morning!!!!!!! we hit a couple bumps (like a broken bunk bed from walmart and a tub that we thought was broken, among some other things). but, it was a fabulous day! we just need to get the beds in there once replaced and a couple small things, and we are done! and the room is BEAUTIFUL. it's bright and fun. the team put together all the furniture and scrubbed everything down. i will post pics when i get some of the finished product-some before and after shots. everyone helping out was so kind and helpful in every way imaginable.

i'd like to give a shout out to those who donated everything for the room, whether it be furniture, flooring, paint, construction, money, etc. we had everything we needed! God is so goooood!

i'd also like to thank those who came out for the big day: sabrina (my cleaning captain!) and "mom", curtis mulder, heather doss, jennifer halsey (who got to buy her first toilet), leah and ramsay macmillan, annelize and conrad rensburg, john fitz henley, josh currie, kate lee, natalie beiswenger, drew and nelda van aarde, mike brookman, steve gourley and the all the kiddos (oh and kelly moyers who was going to come out but we were done for the day)! a huge highlight for me was to hang out with all these faces that i see at church and to get to know them a little more. i love my church peeps!

ramsay and conrad get the "miracle" award for the day. the tub was not functioning and gross. we thought we needed to buy a new one and were placing calls to plumbers, but somehow those boys fixed the tub (drain) and cleaned it to the point where it looked brand new. none of us could believe it! steve gourley and sabrina get the "drive all over durham to find white or tan bunkbeds" award. we're talking 3 walmarts, 2 big lots, and wherever in between. no such luck on the beds, but i am working with walmart currently to *fix* the situation. natty and kate get the "coolest wall art" award for diligently putting up a beautiful scripture. that was some work! everyone else did everything in between that my attempts to even award them properly would fall short of what they deserve. we're talking, TONS of work. and everything just totally flowed. God is so good!

and i'd like to thank my dear husband who drove all over town the past couple weeks picking up beds, desks, random things and watching the kids so i could do all this. i came home to a very clean house too! happy mother's day to me!!!!!

now on to something else. my mom picked out these flowers from calypso or something like that--so we got them for her for mother's day. this arrangement was over $100 for some flowers. but she wanted it. my dad tells me that the flowers showed up in a flat box and my mom had to put the arrangement together herself (each flower was in a water thingy, etc) and the flowers were already dying. ghetto. hey at least we tried! of course melanie sent her a bouquet and it was huge, alive, and beautiful.....

we had the WAM karaoke party on friday night. and it was actually super fun! the highlight would have to be when troy sang that every step you take song. by far the highlight! he won male vocalist of the night-which he truly deserved. i must say i also loved michael singing "pretty fly for a white guy" since he is black. he and i won the best duet award for singing " a whole new world". it tied in really well with curtis's message to us that night. hahaha. i personally enjoyed singing to heather my christina aguilara song "i turn to you." the fans were so moved by our performance, they were placing fake trees and flowers on the stage. sadly, the votes were already in before my performance, but the only thing i wanted to win with that song, was heather's approval and admiration. i was also presented with the darlene szcech award for introducing the most hillsongs. hahahaha.

the sun is rising. my tailbone hurts. i have eaten way too much macaroni salad in 2 days. i'm gonna go take a shower now. i need to be fresh for church.
