prayer please.....

my baby sister michelle was hospitalized on tuesday evening and is still there. she was having major internal issues for a couple weeks, tests were leading them to her colon. she wasn't able to eat much or keep anything down, losing almost 20 pounds in 2 weeks. so far she definitely has a horrible case of colitis. thankfully, the tests show she does not have crohn's disease (a friend has it, and it is horrible).
but the doctors are worried about michelle, she is not recovering well and her body is not responding to the medication. she is on a lot of prednisone (almost 4 times as much as my mom was on with her bone marrow transplant!). they are going to have to insert a PIC line for her medications and also to "feed" her. she is not getting enough nutrients and she is just not able to eat anything because her colon is so inflammed. she is very scared and nervous about having this put in.

so please pray for the following:

*first and foremost for healing. we serve an awesome God, need i say more?
*pray for the PIC line insertion and just her peace of mind about the process. she will have to wear this even at home. (they don't expect to release her until tuesday).
* pray for her kids, she has a 3, 2, and 6 month old. i have the older 2 down here with me currently, and they really miss their mommy. and she really misses them. this is very hard for her.
* pray for guidance and wisdom for her team of doctors, so they can pin point exactly what is wrong and how to fix it.

i thank anyone who reads this and who can pray.....

also, i learned this morning that "grandpa" that we prayed for and visited in africa (he and his wife were raising their 23 grankids)...he has passed away. he was 94 afterall, and he really blessed our team. i am so thankful i got to meet him.

on a super awesome happy note- i'm an "auntie" again- holly and cj welcomed their baby girl abigail claire yesterday!!!!! yay!!!!!! can't wait to see pics and meet her :)

I definitely have Michelle in my prayers! It made me tear up just reading about it. I have faith her body will pull through with flying colors (after all she is the birthing queen!). I'm sure she's worried about many things, but thank goodness she has a great family and a sister who is awesome enough to keep her kiddos. Keep us posted.

i too teared up. I myspace messaged you asking what hospital she's at. Definitely would love to send her something to let her know we are all praying for her quick recovery. It's great to know we have an awesome God, who can always give us hope to make it through times like these.

My heart just breaks for her, and I know that with some prayer warriors fighting in her corner, her good health will be back in no time. Her body has no idea what it is up against!!!!!
I will also be praying for your entire family and the support team she has by her side. You are such a wonderful sister, and even though this is such a hard ordeal on Michelle and the kids, there is a silver lining...your kids get to spend some great time with their cousins!!! Fun for you too! (wink)

I will keep your sister in my prayers. I had Cdiff Colitis in college and was in the ER 4 times (they wouldn't admit me because it was too contagious). I lost 30 lbs and it took 2-3 yrs to finally get my digestive tract someone back on track. Thankfully I did not have as much as your sister going on but I can definitely sympathize with her! Let me know if you need anything while taking care of her two kids. I'm mostly free this weekend and wouldn't mind helping out if you need a few minutes!!
