* i spent labor day weekend in vegas with my sisters and melanie's friends for her bachelorette party (although she eloped last year). it was just a great reason for all the gals to get together. we stayed at the palms place-not the regular hotel (which our cabbie deemed the 2nd most luxurious place in vegas to stay). it was so modern and chic.
our days consisted of laying out by the pool (or sleeping)! a good dinner and then a full night of dancing. i love to get dressed up and be out and about. i am a night owl and wished everything was open late here like it is in vegas :) boy, it is so expensive in vegas. i am glad i was able to ride on the coat tails on all the pretty girls i was with. if you're cute, you don't have to pay for much!!! some highlights: blush, moon, our pool, outdoor tables, daniel boulud's restaurant, mcdonald's in the morning, riding in limos and escalades, dancing to some really good music. some lowlights: tryst, ghostbar, the bank (all of which were way to crowded or not crowded at all!), the estrogen of 13 ladies (but we made it work).
but vegas was it for me. even though i love dancing and i know i am good with God (not to mention i talk about God with others literally every time i am out and about), but that doesn't mean people don't judge. and the Lord has just been working on me about my "image" as i approach ministry for the rest of my life. some think of me as a party girl, which is far from the truth-i am a stay at home mom with 3 kids who just enjoys life whether i am dancing, watching tv, or feeding the homeless-i just don't have pictures of the latter to post regularly! i am passionate about everything i do and everything i believe in. and for that, i do not apologize. this is just a personal journey for me, and i strongly believe that the Holy Spirit convicts and challenges every person as an individual, and i do believe He despises judging as much as i do :)
*now, moving on. 2 of my babies started preschool this past week! they are gone 3-4 mornings a week now. they are having a blast and i am glad they are out learning. i also love spending time with just corban-not to mention all the errands i have been able to run with just one child!
* ah, ministry. He's been speaking to me and stirring me about some things, but i will wait. i've been waiting for a while. but it's worth it :)
* last night VMA's. worst ever. that's just my opinion. it looked very low budget. as much as i love britney and am pulling for an awesome comeback, she did not deserve 3 awards last night. russell brand was AWFUL. performances we ok, but i did not need to see rihanna or lil wayne perform twice. SHARE the stage people. get more acts in there for my entertainment. love the new christina aguilara, but once again, a song i never want to hear my children sing. i can hear chase now "sometimes i'm a superbitch!" yeah, not so much.
* i taped the cheetah girls "one world" movie (for my kids, of course!) haha. and they have some really catchy tunes on there. i sit there like, wow, that's a pretty wicked beat. so sad. but i do love adrienne bailon's hair in that movie. many moons ago, i had hair that light (on the top at least). as you know, i have had dark hair for a couple years now due to feeling like i am broke and can't maintain, but i do miss having lighter hair at times. you need to tell me what to do.....

* brian and i got the new rumor phone from sprint. yay! we had some old phones and were able to upgrade for practically free. i got the bright green one! now i can text a little more efficiently and get updated on my facebook stuff. OH NO!

* a couple of us sorted through the hurricane relief stuff at church today. we collected a lot! i am so excited that we are able to help out down there, especially with Ike on the path towards them again.....
* curtis made an incredible video about our swaziland trip for church. i had no idea i would be balling my eyes out (along with our team!). just seeing the faces of our kids over there, i miss them and want to go back. i left a huge chunk of my heart over there. but i mean really. my heart aches for those in need and those not in need. for some reason, God wired me to just love love love people. i'm not perfect (like i don't have a lot of patience for some people), but i want to do everything i can to help people feel connected, to show them that they are loved by God, and that they have a purpose in their life. i also just have this burning desire to enable people to love on others-get them plugged into something they believe in, where they will serve others than themselves. ok,i could go on and on. i'm obsessed with people, the lost and the found. shoot, talk about partying. there was one EVERY time someone was found....i mean PARTY.
* we didn't get our sisters tattoos in vegas this time. it looks like the holidays maybe? i found a font i really like for our word.
* i love brian.

Glad you had a blast in Vegas! I've missed your blog (though I can't talk b/c I've been here and haven't updated). You preschool cuties are adorable! Congratulations on graduating to one child errand running...I can't even imagine how you could do it before! Lastly, I only saw bits and pieces of the VMA's (1. b/c I forgot it was on and 2. b/c what I did see was bad)...I agree low budget suckiness. I missed Brits awards, but was definitely confused by the update I caught on the Today Show. Oh, I did enjoy Pink's performance, but I do love her...and that song. Grammy's are waay better!
:0) love ya girl
I highly doubt you had to 'ride the coat tails of the pretty girls', I find that hard to imagine seeing how you are one of them!
God is awesome, and so evident in your life no matter where you go.
Your kids are the cutest!
