so this weekend was fun-filled....friday night was supposed to be our only night at home all together as a family for the week. that is, until brian called me at 6pm that day to say he wouldn't be home until very late that night. now, in my former life, i would have been pissed yelling at him on the phone. but not that night....i realize he absolutely does not want to work that late and that it's not his fault. so i offered to bring him and his co-worker some ham, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes for dinner. i think i caught brian off guard with my kindness, a rarity apparently! haha. but it was nice to see him for a few minutes and to know he was nourished :) poor baby worked from 6:30am-1:30am THE NEXT DAY.
we got up early saturday morning to head to chase's first soccer practice with the YMCA. i can't believe my baby is now old enough to play organized sports! it was fun and a couple of his friends from preschool are on his team. it was nice to meet everyone.... chase got to pick his jersey number and of course i handed him the number 7! that was my number for all of my sports, brian was number 4. he insisted on having chase wear number 4, but we all know how that ended. uh huh. haha. callie was right in practice with them. she was not going to stand on the sidelines and she's actually pretty decent! she's not 3 yet for the league, but we might throw a shirt on her anyway :)
we went to wendy's for lunch and headed home....everyone went down for naps (brian included) and i headed to supertarget to meet heather to fill out the target registry list for newhope's room of HOPE for the durham rescue mission. so we get there and they only have ONE registry gun working and someone took it 5 minutes before us. yeah, we weren't adding stuff then. but we still walked around and picked out everything to put on there. we are so excited and it's going to look really nice. so be on the lookout for announcements about it! be part of this extreme makeover good samaritan inn edition!!!!
i come home, make chocolate paradise (chocolate eclair cake) and head over to our team swazi girl's night in fundraiser. it was SO much fun. what i loved most was having the time to meet and chat with women from the church and community who i normally just have time to smile at and to get to know them a little better. it was an enjoyable evening with a professional chair massage, manicures, karaoke, snacks, hot wax hand treatments, and fun conversation. so THANK YOU to all who came out to show your support for the night, to sarah for opening up your home, to everyone who brought food and drinks, and to those who organized it all. i had a wonderful time!!!!!!
i then got to be a secret fairy for the night :) no, don't let your mind go there! with trianglemommies, if you are going through a hard time or in need of some cheer, someone will nominate you to the secret fairy committee and you get a special bag filled with goodies to know you are being thought about. i LOVE the idea of this and creating these bags for those who need some cheer. i never know the person that i am delivering to-they keep it all anonymous. i just drop off the bag on their doorstep late at night and hope they don't have a dog! haha. i think it is great that TM does this-they've blessed me a couple times with the program and the least i can do is be part of this awesome team! thanks, halsey, for making the run with me! lawd knows i can't see at night!

i love that group pic of chase and his teammates! hahah sooo intense!
tell me more about the room of HOPE at GSI. The church Josh and I have been going to has been volunteering there with the kids and I've been going twice a month (but at last count there's only 1 kid). It seems like such a wonderful place to have in our community!
When I moved stuff out of my parents' house last week one of the things in there was my T-Ball shirt from when I was little. It's got Cristin arced above the number 5 and it is TEENY.
Let me know when you guys do the registry @ Target for the project. I had emailed Fran a while ago for a list, but looking at what you guys pick would be easier.
LOVE that Chase is getting into soccer. OMG- You...a soccer mom. Wow...we are getting old-er. He looks so adorable in his uniform. Now I can look forward to getting those sports pics to plaster my fridge with!!!
Congrats! You have graduated to Soccer Mom. Now you need 1 of those magnetic soccer balls on the back of your car that has "Chase" in a horrible cursive font. Again, congrats.
