for real this time!

so last year, i went on this gung ho gonna lose weight kick. and i managed to knock off 20 pounds to only gain it back and then some. but as i approach my 30th birthday, being morbidly obese is just not a good thing right now (or ever for that matter!). i can't live the rest of my life like this.

no, i will never just be naturally skinny like my sisters, so i need to just accept it.
no, it's not cool that i am somewhat killing myself and not thinking about not only my future, but also my kids with my health.
no, i'm not going to get healthy by sitting on the couch being depressed about the stupidest things in life.
no, i will never look like nicole scherzinger, but the hell if i can't try!

so, i have taken action, with the help of my husband and some very caring friends. i am watching what i eat and what my family eats. i have a personal trainer at the gym ONCE A WEEK! i have work-out buddies. i joined the biggest loser contest on TriangleMommies. i have joined sparkpeople.com. i do exercise on demand (channel 557) at home when i don't make it to the gym. i pray about it daily. i have given it to the Lord. i have goals.

so there you go. a new me by 30!

so i got the victoria's secret catalog in the mail (since i ordered something for my skinny sister for christmas) and i decided to cut out one of the gals in the bikini i really liked. i put it on my fridge, and it happened to be on top of one of the kid's sunday school papers. totally not planned, but this is how it turned out...

right below the picture, it says "and the Lord saw all that He had made, and it was very good." Gen. 1:31. hahahahaha.

Marissa- what you are doing is commendable. I was just talking to my mom about how my sister and her husband eat horribly and it's effecting their kids. The world doesn't need any more unhealthy people. Good luck and if you need anything by way of Nashville just say the word!

You're right...you're never gonna be any of those people. And God wouldn't want you to be, he wants you to be you (and so does everyone else). Good for you for wanting to be your best you for yourself and your family. You go girl!
