pics: me and my college friend angel.
one of my great attempts to capture christian.
me and brian on the red carpet of the fashion show. hilarious.
we started the day by sleeping in, which i love. i was checking my email on the balcony and brian said there were some free tickets left for "the price is right" taping that afternoon. we didn't have any other big plans for the day, so we did it! even though the taping was at 4pm, we had to be at the studios by noon. it was a lot of people and a lot of standby's. we were somehow fortunate enough to get into the place.
the scene was pretty funny. we sat next to the university of florida's entire lacrosse team, a wonderful group of pentacostal church ladies, a girl named liz celebrating her 30th birthday and all of her 20 friends donning hot pink t-shirts for her (men included!), old people with shirts that say "carey me down the aisle" (get it??), young people sporting their college shirts, families.... you name it, they were there.
i had the pleasure of sitting next to robin. she was there by herself on her spring break. she had a son with the name corbin. she was sweet and we had a good time chatting it up. it was a long day, but let me just tell you....when they made that nametag with my name on it, it felt like all my dreams came true ! yes, i saved it. it was so cool. the studio itself was VERY tiny. they somehow make it look like this huge show, but it's not! our show will air on april 4th, so be sure to tape it. we were in the very back row. hahaha. i'm sure we don't get much camera time! and as robin put it, this was the "hot boyz" episode, so ladies you might enjoy the contestants. hahahaha. we were so wiped afterwards! oh and no cameras were allowed, so i have no photo documentation :(
we finished up around 5:30pm and walked over to the Grove. my pal leah who moved from LA not too long ago told me this was her fave spot and i had to check it out. i LOVED it. great shopping, great weather, great atmosphere, great food. we met my dear friend angel (roman) from college for dinner at marmalade cafe. it was divine food, wine, eating outdoors, and just having a really good time. i have not seen angel in probably almost 10 years. he was a couple years ahead of me in school and was one of our school's main worship leaders. without even really knowing me, he had me sing alto with him and truly gave me a start at being able to do worship at my school. typically if you were not a vocal major (which i was not), no one really paid much attention to you when it came time for singing. so i've always had a special place for angel in my heart.
i appreciated his conversation and insight with me. he's anointed in many ways. i love him!!!!! he even bought our dinner for us, while he went to "pee". stinker! while we were eating dinner, we got to jam to some great songs because they were having an outdoor fashion show at the grove by designer christian audigier. we didn't catch much of the fashion show, but after eating, they had one of those paparazzi backdrops for the event and the red carpet. christian came out there right as i was snooping around, so i tried about 20 shots to get a pic of him. every single one of them did not turn out-it in fact became the joke of the night. i posted goofy pics above.
after a late night we headed back to the hotel. it was a fun day in LA, it was complete when i saw that hollywood sign :)!

That is supercool that you got to be on the Price is Right!!
I got into the Price is Right about a year ago before Bob left. It was awesome. I totally know what you mean about when they wrote your name on that name tag! As a kid I always said "as soon as I'm old enough I'm going on that show"...I used to watch with my grandma and let me tell you that lady has won a lot of cars (too bad she never made it on the show to actually win them). I agree with you about the tiny studio...it looks sooo different on TV. I hope you guys continue to have a great time and safe travels! Enjoy Vegas Baby!
