day 8-it's friday!

pics: my girl jeannie and us at spago for lunch.
the ladies of the evening: me, jeannie, and nancy
the gentlemen: rich, brian, joe, nancy's husband, and tung
the dessert platter: giant wonton filled with chocolate and vanilla cream, molten lava cake, apple cinnamon spring rolls, ice cream, chocolate buddahs.
me and brian in our limo ride-still looking good towards the end of the night! hahaha.

so i am missing the kids like crazy at this point. we get up, clean up, check out, and i call my mom while we are getting gas. i talk to chase who had just put himself in time out for putting too much toilet paper in the toilet. i could tell he was just on the brink of being emotional on the phone with me, and sure enough he starts sobbing saying how much he misses me. of course, i am a WRECK, sobbing back, it was just awful. brian had to take the phone from me, but chase gave the phone to callie (who says "california" very well for a 2 year old). i had to pull myself together, i was about to have lunch with one of my best friends in the world!

we met at spago (wolfgang puck's restaurant) in caesar's palace. it was SOOOOOOO good. i mean GOOD. i was getting spoiled by eating all of these awesome and pricey meals :) we spent a good amount of time there just chatting it up. we then headed to the bellagio which is where we all were staying that night. we met up with her other 2 friends tung and joe. we had a blast just hanging out in the room with them. we were joking and laughing so much, which is a rare find when meeting brand new people. we then got all dressed up to head out for the night. i have been waiting!!!!!

we even introduced them all to downy wrinkle releaser as they all pulled out the ironing board. i told them i haven't ironed a thing in years since this invention! hahaha. they actually dug it i think :)

so anyway, we walked all the way down to the venetian. that is not an easy hike, especially in my gold heels. my shoe TORE up the back of my heel, brian had to buy me bandaids. it was pathetic! we gambled for the first time for about 10 minutes. i played $5 on a slot machine and won nothing and brian played a little black jack. we just have no desire to gamble really.

we then headed to TAO restaurant for her bday dinner. her boyfriend rich from LA flew in to meet us there, along with her friend nancy and her husband, me, brian, tung, and joe. words cannot describe the energy of that place. it was paradise for me-all the asian influence, dark reds, global decor, and AMAZING food. even the bday dessert tray that they brought out for jeannie with a huge sparkler was quite intense. granted, dinner cost us like $130, but it was worth every penny. money was not even an issue for brian that night, which is rare. hahahaha. i had pad thai with shrimp and brian had some super awesome crusted sirloin steak and we had lobster dumplings. topped off with that serious dessert.

the other side of TAO is a nightclub that opens up at 10pm. we got stamped to get in without having to wait in line since we were dining there. it was crazy busy and packed out!!!! that place took my breath away. all the beautiful people were out that night. the music was good, there were dancers everywhere, the vibe was swanky and sexy--i just couldn't get enough. i was in dancing heaven! those of you that know me, know i love to dance. i especially love to feed off other people's energy, and there was plenty of it there that night. jeannie even joked that brian can dance on beat now, so i must be rubbing off on him! hahahaha. it was fun to bring in her birthday there. a fantastic night for a fantastic friend. we were out from 7pm-5am and dropped more money than i thought possible for us at least!. but we have no regrets. we did vegas and enjoyed it very much. but i'm sure that's enough details-what happens in vegas stays in vegas! just kidding.
